Comfort
If Comfort were a person,
their presence would be
like a quiet, soft light
glowing beside you.
Not to impose
or tell you what to do.
There would be no need
to explain anything,
or to comfort Comfort,
or to be ashamed.
Silence would be enough.
Because Comfort
can see beneath
all of your outer trimmings
and into the heart of you.
Comfort loves you
the way you are
and demands nothing.
So that,
when you are ready,
you can lean into
its warm and sturdy bulk
and Comfort
will hold you
for as long as you need.
