Haven
There is plastic fast food packaging,
Pundit screaming television,
Blindingly bright digital billboards,
Ice cold building in the middle of summer.
And then there is you,
White pine,
Steady and straight and strong,
Haven for small creatures.
Nourished by sun, soil, rain,
You grow,
Stretch.
You embody the Light.
I want to align my life
With yours.
I want to be
The single pine cone
That hangs gently
From your reaching hand.

Hi Maria. My friend Michele, shared your link. I like what you are doing. The images remind me of some of my walks.
Thank you. The pictures are mostly from my husband. Many of them were taken on our walks at Shaw Nature Reserve.
