We are standing on dangerous ground,
with leadership more interested
in retaliation than policy,
sewing fear and hate
as a source of power.

The continual chaos tears at us,
rattles our brains.
The constant stream of lies
calls us to question
our grasp on reality.

The mind seeks peace.
We try to make sense of it,
try to convince ourselves
that it is not as bad as it seems.

Only to listen to the news,
obsessively,
and be hit with the latest.
It is that bad,
and maybe worse.

Pulled away from peace
and into panic,
we are frozen,
paralyzed by the magnitude,
by our own insignificance.

With this barrage,
this sense of helplessness,
we become separated
from our Source,
from our heart of hearts,
where true wisdom lies,
where true strength lies,
where unity lies.

Where God can creatively
use our unique talents
to work through us,
Love through us.

Light a candle.
Focus on breath.
Ask the deep questions.
Be brave enough
to listen for the answers.
