Living Within The Mystery
The older I get,
the less I seem to “know”,
the more I realize that we humans
look for answers
more than the truth
because answers,
even if not quite right,
help to quell the anxiety
of not knowing.
Take our notion of the divine, for instance.
We are forever trying to fit God
into one box or another.
Then we hold onto that box so tight,
we become willing to do harm
to protect it.
But the divine defies definition
and holding onto that box
limits our ability to reach.
I want always
to live within the Mystery,
to seek,
to wonder,
to delight,
and to expand into it.
I cannot hold onto the divine
because the divine holds me.

You nailed it again, Maria.
Thank you Maria
So true. I love the way you put truth into poems.
