Happy Sunday morning. After the events of this week, I didn’t know what to say here. Do I post words of outrage? Disbelief? Fear? Despair? Or comfort? It is my personal belief that in times of turmoil, such as these, it is even more vital to connect with your inner being. It is so natural to react from anger and fear, but better action comes from listening to your essence song and letting your response rise from there.
Essence Song
While the chaos
of the world
spins out of control,
encroaching,
threatening,
step back for a moment
and listen.
Beneath the noise,
there is a familiar
wordless melody
calling to you.
It is composed
of all the love
you have ever known,
of the heartbreak,
the grief,
of every awakening hope-
all transformed
into an essence song.
And, although it is
uniquely yours,
its harmonies
are carried on the wind
to blend with
the breath of life
that lies beneath
the chaos
of the world.

I’m listening, Maria, and thanks for addressing that which shouldn’t be ignored.
May I ask whose painting is on display this morning?
That is Laurel’s painting, Paul. I really love it! Thank you!
