Enough
Eventually, you decide
that this
is enough.
You stop striving for more,
for different.
Or maybe you realize
that while you have been
grasping for all of that,
this
has been ripening
into something beautiful
and you’d better pay attention,
live into it
more deeply,
before the fruit
falls from the tree.
Right here.
Right now.
This
is enough.

Yeah!
Yes, absolutely. And I love Mike’s photo
If we are just talking about the material world, I agree with your poem. (Although…..I would like one of those apples.)
But when we speak of the world of the intellect and even physical skills, I can’t go there. I mean…who’s going to write the poems?
Keep them coming, Maria!
I wanted to leave it open to interpretation, but for me, it is about ambitions in my life that took up a lot of time and energy and drew me away from what felt like my “real” life. By choosing not to spend time on those, I can eat the apple AND enjoy it. And still have time to write a poem about it:)
