Resentment
It usually starts with some small reminder,
seemingly insignificant.
Then I pull at that thread from the past,
unravel it,
until the whole tangled mess
clutters up the present.
I once believed
that if I did this for long enough,
often enough,
I would figure it all out,
that something would be resolved.
But I don’t want to pull at that thread anymore.
It is old and I am tired of it.
I just want to leave it back there
where it belongs.
Because-
I prefer the light
and lightness of now.
The fresh beginning,
the quiet.
Only the sound of birds
and my deep,
deep breathing.

Sorry for the delay. I was having some website issues, but thankfully, they are resolved. Whew!!! Thanks to Justin at Bluehost. I love when tech people go the extra mile because I have no idea what they are doing and they just feel like heroes to me.
So, so right.
Not always easy to do, though.
Yeah, I have/had the same problem. Another goodie. Let’s keep breathing. OK?
Its a deal!
Maria, well said. And thankfully we get to make the choice of revisiting from a safer place, until it serves no good purpose, and we can return to where we would rather be, here and now.
